West Coast Aquatic Safaris has always been focused on providing the best experience to everyone. This has been evident through the design of the vessels being specifically for wildlife viewing. As we mature as a company and have taken the knowledge gained from previous years experience, support from the Accessible Wilderness Society and there has been even further thought put towards the more recent addition to the fleet.

Access For AllNANUQ our 36 passenger catamaran is equipped with similar features to WASCO the 12 passenger vessel with additional space, accessibility and stability. When we say “access for all” we are talking about some very key features. Most recent is the development of our own custom ramp. This sturdy welded aluminum ramp allows the easiest of access for those individuals that use wheelchairs, children in strollers as well as those with reduced visibility. The gentle grade and nothing to maneuver over means the confidence to board the vessel with ease.We offer indoor seating for everyone however for those that want to venture upstairs to the bridge, we have ensured that the staircase is wide and the incline is such that families travelling with small children can safely navigate the stairs with a young one in their arms or walking on their own. After we added an additional 4 feet to the stern of NANUQ last year it means that there is deck space with room to move at the bow and stern to make sure that everyone has ample space and even when at capacity a quiet spot just for you and yours.

If you are thinking about language or visual concerns, we have thought of that as well. Each of our vessels is also equipped with a hydrophone (under water microphones ) that can be used when the conditions permit so that we can bring your experience to a new level below the sea. When travelling on NANUQ there is always the option to hire a translator that may accompany you from the time you join us in our office and work with our naturalist while on board allowing you to share in all the information about our local area, wildlife and culture.

West Coast Aquatic Safaris has worked hard to consider everyone and encourage you to contact us with any additional questions, concerns or arrangements that we can make to ensure that everyone has the best experience possible.
