Comox Valley Events

Friday, November 7 to Sunday, November 9, 2014 – Charles Dickens Christmas Craft Faire – 3 to 8pm Fri., 10am to 5pm Sat., & 10am to 4pm Sun. at the Florence Filberg Centre Conference Hall in Courtenay, BC – a 1.12-hour trip from Nanaimo, BC

Come celebrate the 20th year of this annual craft fair only in Courtenay, BC!

The Charles Dickens Christmas Craft Faire is the first major craft fair in all of the Comox Valley. This is an annual tradition for shoppers to browse through two floors worth of multiple booths and venues for a start on their holiday gift shopping in a relaxed and laidback seasonal atmosphere.

There is something at the fair for everyone shopping for the following items: Comox Valley scenery photography, artwork and mixed media, specially crafted wooden products such as ornaments and crib boards, beauty and bath items such as soaps and essential oils, handcrafted toys and decorations for children, spices and jams and cooking materials for the chef in your life, and much, much more.

There will be daily draw prizes for lucky winners including $50 gift certificates from participating merchants, as well as the chance to win 1 of 5 $100 gift cards from Quality Foods using a free draw ticket.

The fair will also be fundraising for Y.A.N.A. (You Are Not Alone), a local charity organization, by selling handmade Christmas crackers. Other local charities being supported by this event include the Comox Valley SPCA and the Evergreen Senior’s Club, among others.

Each year there is a featured artist at the event; this year it is Gwen Monnet, whose specialty lies in acrylic canvas paintings for children especially. Visit her official website for more details.
