Sunday, November 30, 2014 – Raincoast Re-Skilling Festival – 10am to 5pm at the Tofino Botanical Gardens in Tofino, BC

A must-not-miss event happening in Tofino on November 30 is the 2014 Raincoast Re-skilling Festival. This event is designed to inform local residents and help them transform from a “fossil-fuel dependent community to a more localized and self-reliant community”. There are many educational seminars that you’d be glad to attend. Here’s a quick rundown of the schedule:

10am: Wilderness Safety & Survival by Francis Bruhwiler

11am: Sausage-Making by Tina Windsor

12pm: Strategic Fishing by Conor Mackenzie

1pm: Knitting by Ariane Batic

2pm: Building Tiny Homes by Phil Reimers

3pm: Food Gardening: Grow Something, Eat Something by Sarah Platenius

4pm: Building Water Catchment Systems & Raising Small Livestock by George Patterson
