Friday, January 23, 2015 – Tales from the Odyssey – 7:30 to 9:30pm at the McMillan Arts Centre in Parksville, BC – a 31-minute trip from Nanaimo, BC
Hear the classic tale of The Odyssey from Celtic storyteller Mary Gavan. Almost everyone knows what happened to Odysseus as he struggled to make his way home after the Trojan War, but in this play presented by The McMillan Arts Centre, you’ll hear it in a way you’ve never heard before.
It would seem like a brand new exciting story. That’s how talented Mary Gavan is. Her CD, Celtic Otherworld Stories, has captivated audiences from different parts of Canada and Europe. She has won the World Storytelling Award. Laurie Hutchison, long-time founded member of the Around Town Tellers group from Nanaimo, will also be bringing her storytelling skills to this event.
