Saturday, February 28 to Sunday, March 1, 2015 – The Pirates of Penzance – 7:30pm Sat. & 2pm Sun. at the Port Theatre in Downtown Nanaimo, BC
The South Island Musical Theatre Society proudly presents The Pirates of Penzance, which is one of the most well-known operettas of Gilbert & Sullivan.
It’s a light-hearted tale of a young man who was mistakenly apprenticed as a pirate and then falls in love with the daughter of a major general. The story will make you laugh, it will make you sing, it will make you fall in love. It has an excellent musical score, humour, and political satire all in one play.
Featured songs from this famous musical include “Oh, Better Far to Live and Die (I Am a Pirate King)” and “Poor Wandering One”.
