Events Nanaimo

Saturday, March 28, 2015 – Festival Nanaimo: PirateFest Family FUNday – 3 to 7pm at Diana Krall Plaza in Downtown Nanaimo, BC

Nanaimo is holding its very first annual festival called Festival Nanaimo! This new event will take place on separate days throughout March 2015 and is guaranteed to provide lots of fun for every one of every age, ranging from free family events to special occasions at the Port Theatre.

This free event closes out Festival Nanaimo, and it is perfect for families and everyone of all age with a fondness for pirates or just looking for a rollicking good time. The main event kicks off with the Children’s Pirate Parade, where anyone can join in by dressing up as a buccaneer and walk with all the other scurvy sea dogs – there is even a prize for the best dressed pirate!

If parades are less your style, there’s plenty other things to do – go hunt for treasure, forge your own eye patch or spy glass at the craft tent, grab a bite to eat, sing sea shanties, or dance with the Dinah D Contraband Swingclub, a 6-piece band including 5 stellar vocalists, 3 horns, a deadly rhythm section, and loads of fun for anyone looking to have a great time.

It’s a pirate’s life for all at Festival Nanaimo’s finale event!
