One of the most renowned music groups we’ve all grown up to is celebrating their 30th anniversary. The Lafayette String Quartet will be playing a complete cycle of the 15 String Quartets of Dmitri Shostakovich in a 5-night concert. This concert pays tribute to the creative life and career that Shostakovich lived from the 1930s to the 1970s. The group’s mentor Rostislav Dubinsky had worked closely with Shostakovich. Before the concert, there will also be talks and group lectures by Michelle Assay from the Université Paris-Sorbonne, David Fanning from the University of Manchester, Judith Kuhn from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Patrick McCreless from Yale University.
