On June 8 Nanaimo will be getting together to celebrate and honour that which makes us the official “harbour city”: the ocean! World Oceans Day will consist of all sorts of marine-based activities that we’re sure everyone will enjoy!
Kids will have the opportunity to check out some really cool exhibits, such as marine touch tanks and a scavenger hunt taking place throughout all of Maffeo Sutton Park! You can also check out the Build-a-Whale exhibit (i.e. an interactive killer whale skeleton), find out more info on deep sea and local marine life conservation, and so much more.
Best of all, the event is free!
