Nanaimo Events-Vancouver Island Exhibition 2017

An annual Nanaimo tradition returns! The Vancouver Island Exhibition (VIEX) is one of Nanaimo’s biggest celebrations of agriculture and all-around family fun. Not only will there be the classic attractions to expect but also a lineup of new activities for this year!

Those with kids can bring them to the giant Kids Zone, which this year will feature more activities such as the VIEX fishing hole, as well as bouncy castles, slides, and interactive games and activities. Dog lovers can check out the demonstration by the Nanaimo Kennel Club, and those who know a thing or two about farming equipment can view the many tractors and vehicles presented by the Mid Island Vintage Tractor and Equipment Club. You can also look forward to these brand new events taking place at the VIEX this year!:

  • 1st annual Ribfest
  • Vancouver Island Coastal Cowgirls
  • Strathcona Mounted Troop’s Musical Ride & Equestrian Display
  • Project Platinum – TD Song & Dance Competition
  • And more!

Live concerts and shows will also be taking place throughout the days with groups such as the Herbicidal Maniacs, Sirreal, Doc Walker, and Led Zepagain bringing you live entertainment! A full schedule can be viewed at the official website.
