For those wondering when the best time of year is to visit Vancouver Island’s Cowichan Valley, let fall be the right time! This year the Savour Cowichan Festival will feature 10 days worth of good food, good drinks, and good times all around, taking place at various venues within the Valley from simple dining to that of luxury.  Many of the funds raised at this year’s festival will go towards supporting families and individuals living with autism in the Valley via the Canucks Autism Network (CAN). These events we describe are just a sample (pun intended) of what to expect at this year’s festival:

  • “Barge on In”, Sept. 29 & 30, Mill Bay. Two foodie evenings will take place on a floating barge, and live and silent auctions will take place as well. Click here to buy tickets!
  • Shawnigan Hockey Classic, Sept. 29 & 30, Shawnigan Lake. This 2-day hockey benefit will include a 3-on-3 tournament with Gold Medal games and a Q & A session on Saturday with Canucks alumni. A donation of $5-10 is suggested.
  • Taste of Chemainus, Oct. 4-8, Chemainus. Dine at the local artisanal restaurants in Chemainus with select menu options made specifically for the festival! Prices range from between $10 to $20.
