Want a more hands-on Halloween experience this year? Do you or your children have an interest in science? This event might be right up your alley then! The Extreme Science Team from VIU is proudly hosting a Spooktacular Science Challenge, now in its fifth year of running. Kids can follow a course held in Bowen Park that will have several spooky science stations set up along the route. The event will conclude with an explosive demonstration from the Extreme Science Team!
Some of the spooktacular challenges include the following:
- Experiment with goop to create your own spooky slime!
- Decode the secret messages in the blacklight Haunted House!
- Explore spooky science experiments with mad chemists from VIU at their Creepy Chemistry Cauldron!
Your ticket to the event will include not only entry to the challenge but also a free beverage and a paint balloon for their balloon slingshot.
Adults and children ages 3 and under can come for free with accompanying ticket holder. Pre-registration for the event is available online until the end of the day on October 26, 2017. On-site registration is available the morning of the event starting at 10am (at an increased cost however – $15 per child).
