Every year on November the 11th, we Canadians take a moment of silence in remembrance of the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country during wartimes, conflict, and peace. Over 1,500,000 Canadians have served us in this way, and over 100,000 have died for us, for their homes, their families, and their friends. They died for a collection of traditions they cherished and a future they believed in. They gave their lives for Canada and the future so that we may all live in peace.
An invitation is extended to you on behalf of Mayor Richard Atwell and Council to attend the District of Saanich’s annual Remembrance Day Ceremony on November 11. The ceremony will begin at 10:45am at the Cenotaph in the front of the Saanich Municipal Hall.
