Come join Victoria BC for an annual Christmas tradition! The Sea of Lights, a lighted ship parade off Willows Beach in Oak Bay, Cattle Point and Gyro Park at Cadboro Bay is a cherished holiday event and the unofficial kick-off to the Christmas season for Oak and Cadboro Bay’s communities. Join in for their 12th anniversary event at 6:45pm on Friday December 1.
The fleet of lit boats will be led by a Canadian Navy training ship, leaving the Royal Victoria Yacht Club in Cadboro Bay and passing Cattle Point at around 7pm. See some spectacular views at Willows Beach at around 7:15pm. The Kiwanis will be serving hot chocolate by donation at the Willows Beach pavilion! You can keep warm by the roaring beach bonfire being run by the Oak Bay Fire Department.
At 7:45pm the fleet will parade past Cadboro Bay’s Gyro Park beach. Hot chocolate and coffee, donated by Cadboro Bay merchants, will be served by the 12th Garry Oaks Sea Scouts. Donations are also being accepted by the Salvation Army.
Attending this event is free of charge, but you’re encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item or other donation to the Kiwanis or the Salvation Army.
