Just when you think you have seen it all and done it all, Mount Washington offers a fun new twist to one of the popular winter activity – skiing. From December 15, 2011 until March 2, 2012, you can enjoy extended hours to enjoy riding and skiing amid the stunning backdrop of stars and the breathtaking view from Mount Washington. This activity is scheduled every Thursdays to Saturdays from 3:30 PM until 10:00 PM.
Mount Washington has lined up a number of activities to help you celebrate the holidays in style and make it more memorable. Aside from the Alpine Night Skiing, they have also organized several activities to greet the Christmas holidays. To give you an idea on what you can expect, here are the calendar of events from December 17 to December 30:
December 17 (Saturday) Ted’s Mountain Lager Ugly Sweater Soiree
Bring along the tackiest sweater you can find, either one made by your grandma or grab one from the thrift store. This is the only time you can wear it with great pride and win exciting prizes. Kick the Christmas spirit into an overdrive and show off some of your dance moves, it’s guaranteed to be a fun and memorable event.
December 23 (Friday) Carols by Candelight
Bring along your family and join other holiday guests in enjoying an evening for Christmas songs and good holiday cheer specially prepared by Tourism Mount Washington and the North Island Choral Society. Cookies and hot chocolates will be served along with a visit from Santa to entertain the young ones.
December 24 (Saturday) Christmas Eve Service
Celebrate a solemn Christmas with a non-denominational service and celebration to be held at Alpine Lodge.
December 26, Monday Pepsi Fireworks and Torchlight Parade
If you have not yet experienced fireworks in the Alps, it’s definitely a spectacular sight to behold. The annual Mount Washington light show is also a wonderful event you don’t want to miss.
December 31, Saturday New Year’s Eve Celebrations
Meet the New Year with a slew of fun activities such as tube races, as well as countdown for kids. There will also be a Dairyland Family Event, scheduled to be held at the Whiskey Jack Conference Room where you get to enjoy roaming entertainment, interactive games, midway style food, science experiments and so much more.
For adults, you can enjoy live entertainment and DJ intermissions complete with midnight champagne toasts at Fat Teddy’s Bar & Grill.
