This ballet company came into being through Fidel Castro’s commitment to promote the arts and make it available for everyone in Cuba back in 1959. Deeply intertwined with the colorful history of the country, the Revolution marked the birth of ballet in Cuba.The company received $200, 000 from the Castro Government, which paved the way for the beginning of their illustrious history.
