Monday, December 1, 2014 till Monday, January 5, 2015 – 1950s Christmas – 10am to 5pm at the Nanaimo Museum in Downtown Nanaimo, BC
This year’s exhibit at the Nanaimo Museum presents a very special, nostalgic kind of Christmas called 1950s Christmas.
The exhibit will feature and highlight popular culture and daily life in the 1950s, including Christmas and toys, all while coinciding with the museum’s usual busy holiday season.
Admission is by donation and all proceeds go to the Greater Nanaimo Toy Drive.
“1950s Christmas is an ideal exhibit for generations of families to visit together,” says Aimee Greenaway, Interpretation Curator at the museum. “Many grandparents grew up in the 1950s so will recognize artifacts and photos from their youths. Fashions and trends from that era are popular right now with children of baby boomers. And, of course, the toys are interesting for all ages.”
