Walking the Boundary Layer is a unique guided walk that teaches you all about mosses, mushrooms, lichens and other vascular plants that can be found in the thick forests nestled within the Pacific Northwest. If you think these are nothing more than decorative elements in gardens, you’ll be surprised at the various important roles that they play in our ecosystem. Mosses, for example, come in more than 12,000 varieties, and each of these varieties has many practical purposes. The walk will start at the Nature Centre off Munn Road and will take about two hours.
