Love to weave, spin, quilt, knit, felt, or needle felt? So does the rest of the Campbell River community! Share your talent and passion for all things fibre and strengthen connections between you and other fibre artists at the Vancouver Island Fibre Fest, which was created for just that reason.
There will be a marketplace for shopping in, a Fibre Cafe where you can sip a cup of coffee with lunch, take in some of the incredible workshops, watch some free demos, and so much more. There will also be a Children’s Corner so that families can get introduced to these lifetime skills.
All proceeds via donation go to support the Specialized Recreation programs offered by the City of Campbell River Recreation Department. The majority of those who attend these recreational programs live on a fixed disability pension with little money for extras such as learning new arts and crafts. You can see the results of these programs at the Saturday Evening Reception held at the Fibre Cafe, where students from the Specialized Recreation Cooking Basics course will be helping out in the cafe while students from the Specialized Recreation Sewing for Fun course will be hosting a mini show-and-tell. Come see first-hand their accomplishments!
Admission to this event is by donation but there is a charge for participating in the workshops. To view these workshops please visit the official website.
