Don your favourite kilt and prepare to nibble on some haggis – the annual Victoria Highland Games and Celtic Festival returns this year! This long-lasting event has officially reached its 154th year of running, making it the largest one of its own history, and the sheer amount of things to see and do during this festival is tremendous.
Not only is it the biggest Scottish cultural festival but also it is a premier event taking place during the Victoria holiday weekend. It’s anticipated that there will be over 25,000 people attending in Topaz Park where the event will take place.
During this three-day event expect to see all of the following, and more:
- Live Celtic music and entertainment
- A hurling and Gaelic football competition
- Clan and heritage displays and demos
- Falconry and Medieval sword demos
- Scottish and Celtic merch vendors
- Children’s activities (bouncy castles, face painting, and even Celtic sports)
- A giant food court
- Beer gardens
- A whisky school
- A kilted mile race
And that’s just the beginning! What better way to celebrate your Scottish side or get to know more about the Celtic culture? We certainly can’t think of a better way than this!
