Come and celebrate the birthday of the highly acclaimed Scottish poet and lyricist Robbie Burns (January 25, 1759-July 21, 1796) with the Comox Valley Pipe Band Society. They’ll be commemorating Robbie Burns with their 5th annual Burns dinner fundraiser. This evening comes complete with the piping in and addressing of Scottish haggis with Burns’ poem ‘To a Haggis’, as well as toasts to the ‘lads’ and ‘lassies’, live entertainment, food, fun, and even door prizes to be won!
The night will begin with fellowship followed by a roast beef dinner at 7pm, which will include salad, haggis, tatties (potatoes), carrots, neeps (turnips), dessert, and the opportunity to win some great door prizes! Entertainment will be provided by the Comox Valley Pipe Band Society in the form of piping and drumming, and also from the students of the Lori Tinkler School of Dance with their highland dancing.
This fundraiser goes to help the Comox Valley Pipe Band Society, allowing them to continue outfitting and upgrading the band’s equipment and uniforms, as well as allowing members to access training and workshops and for the band to continue providing public appearances at community events.
