Now in its 17th year of running, the Gorge Canada Day Picnic in Esquimalt is one of the best annual events the city has to offer! Start celebrating Canada Day by grabbing a seat for the Canada Day Family Parade at 9am. Expect to see lots of kids on their bicycles decorated in lots of red and white! The parade route is along Gorge Road and ends on Admiral Road and at the Craigflower-Kosapsom Park, where a pancake breakfast is located!
There will be lots of professional artists around with featured exhibits, as well as an artisan market for anyone looking to find a souvenir for this very special day. There will be booths selling all of kinds of handmade items such as cards, natural soaps, fudge and chocolates, and more. Automotive and hot rod fans can come and check out the Gorge Tillicum Canada Day Show & Shine Car Show right after the Family Parade, or you can drop by for some live music at the Busker’s Corner in the new green space amphitheatre.
Other highlights to check out include canoe rides, multicultural food vendors, a strawberry tea party, kids’ activities, live music and entertainment all day long, and much, much more. There’s plenty of things to do for everyone at this awesome Canada Day event!
