Nanaimo Events – Rationing to Ravishing at the Museum
June 2, 2015 @ 10:00 am - August 23, 2015 @ 5:00 pm
The Nanaimo Museum is known for hosting an array of unique events, exhibitions, and launches. This summer, they will be displaying a collection of 1940s-50s fashion called Rationing to Ravishing: Fashions of the 40s & 50s.
The 25-piece exhibit, which will be guest curated by Ivan Sayers and Claus Jahnke, includes creations from rare haute couture to daily-wear that showcase how WWII changed society.
This exhibit is perfect for those who are interested in fashion, clothing, and history, but absolutely everyone is invited to come. This will also be an opportunity for museum visitors to be treated to Sayers and Jahnke’s extensive textile collection. Plus, you will learn how the events before, after, and during WWII shaped fashion through the two presentation that Ivan Sayers will give.
For specific dates of exhibit show times and admission fees, please visit the official website.
