Tofino Events – Carving on the Edge Festival 2015
August 29, 2015 - September 10, 2015

The Carving on the Edge Festival celebrates West Coast wood carvings in both traditional and contemporary form. It runs for 13 days and covers a variety of activities, from demonstrations, exhibits and forums to feasts and family programs.
The lineup starts off with a Family Day event, followed by an introduction to carving course, carving tool workshop, and lino print and paddle making tutorials. For Coastal Roots weekend (September 4 to 6), masters of the craft will perform demos.
Also on schedule is a cultural evening of music, film and stories. There’s an art show as well, plus a stunning 17-foot traditional cedar canoe hand-carved by Joe Martin and Carl Martin, Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation, on display.
